Welcome to Limestone Charter Association Student Information Systems (SIS) Department.  Our goal is to provide excellent customer service while maintaining and reporting accurate student data.    Everything we do is to ensure the integrity of our student data. 

The Student Information Services (SIS) team manages PowerSchool and all student data systems used across LCA charter schools. This team ensures accurate reporting to the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE), supports accountability submissions, and maintains data integrity across platforms. We assist schools with enrollment, scheduling, reporting, assessments, communication platforms, and technology integrations to ensure seamless data operations. Our goal is to empower schools with the tools and training they need to manage student information efficiently and compliantly.

PowerSchool

 

PowerSchool is South Carolina’s mandated student information system (SIS) designed to help K–12 schools manage and track student data. It serves as a central hub for storing, organizing, and accessing information related to students, teachers, courses, grades, attendance, scheduling, and more.

Key Features of PowerSchool:

  • Student Information Management: Stores detailed student records including demographics, enrollment history, contact information, and academic performance.

  • Scheduling: Supports both manual and automated creation of master schedules and student timetables.

  • Gradebook & Report Cards: Teachers can enter grades, track assignments, and generate report cards or progress reports.

  • Attendance Tracking: Schools can track daily or period-by-period attendance and generate related reports.

  • Parent & Student Portals: Provides access for families to view grades, assignments, attendance, and school communication.

  • Teacher Portal: Allows educators to take attendance, enter grades, view schedules, and access student information.

  • Data Reporting & State Compliance: Offers robust reporting tools to support compliance with state and federal reporting requirements.

  • Integration Capabilities: Works with a wide range of third-party applications (like ClassLink, Clever, and LMS platforms) to expand functionality.

 

The PowerSchool Parent Portal is a secure, web-based platform that allows parents and guardians to stay informed about their child’s academic progress and school-related information in real time.

 

Key Features of the Parent Portal:

  • Grades & Assignments: View up-to-date grades, individual assignment scores, and teacher comments.

  • Attendance Tracking: Monitor daily and class-by-class attendance records.

  • Class Schedules: Access your child’s current class schedule, including teachers and periods.

  • Report Cards & Progress Reports: View and download official report cards and progress reports.

  • School Announcements: Receive important messages and alerts from the school or district.

  • Teacher Communication: Easily email teachers directly from the portal.

  • Multiple Children, One Account: View information for all your children attending the district’s schools using a single login.

 

Access:

The Parent Portal can be accessed through any web browser or the PowerSchool Mobile App, available on iOS and Android devices. Parents must receive a unique access code from their child’s school to create an account.

 

Purpose:

The Parent Portal is designed to increase transparency and foster better communication between home and school. It empowers parents to actively support their child's learning by providing real-time access to academic and attendance data.
